We were given a concession card when we got here though husband found work in a month.We did not apply for it and did not use it.Sue.

Centrelink may have just read this... they will be tightening up on these errors now

Centrelink Concession cards: You need to meet a 104-week newly arrived resident’s waiting period or be exempt from this requirement, for example if you are a refugee or the partner of an Australian citizen.

I visited Centrelink this morning and was told that I will be entitle for FTB for kids under 16.

This does catch out some people who claim for 3 months, then get a good job, which takes them over the annual threshold, and they find they have to repay all, or part of, the FTB.
