Just a wee query, we are hopefully moving to oz just waiting on visa ( fingers crossed ) I was on this computer and was thinking do i sell it or take it with me???.
Firstly would it work in oz, also how much would a new computer be if we bought a new one, just a mid range one not to big not to small.
Anybody in oz had this problem??

depends how old your PC is as to whether it's worth shipping it.

If you move to the sunshine coast then give me a shout. I work for a local computer company and I can always do a good deal and the best customer service on the coast
Dell are OK but you don't get good customer service and if they go wrong the support isn't good.
All depends if you are wanting good service or a cheap PC

I brought mine with me as it would have cost over $5000 to replace (built for £1200). Off the peg PC's are pretty cheap here but if your into gaming pc's then prepare to dig deep for high spec parts.

I agree with the other posters.
We packed our PC away on the container and bought an ACER laptop for $800 when we got here. It is a little slow, but has wireless broadband, bluetooth, 80GB and a DVD burner. It does the business when we've set up the webcam with people back home.
By the way, the $800 was $1000 with $200 cashback. The Aussies are fond of deals like this and any sort of discount, voucher or sale price.
Cheers David

How long is a piece of string? It depends on many different factors.
Wrap your current current one well in bubble wrap and take it with you. You can upgrade with local parts as they are compatible. I

Talking of computers, I've spent the last few days writing automated tools for my website and I can now dynamically update the stock I keep within about 2 seconds! Means I can stock 100's of times the amount of stuff that I used to. By the end of this week it should be the size of a decent UK store! Might as well tout my goods on here, bumps up my web hits!
