I think Arkon is quite amusing.

Most people will make up their own minds.

Him and Vash were made for each other

Well in my time here, somehow I've managed to:

Get a driving licence
Get a job in the public service
Get married
Get a marriage certificate
Change my name (whilst working in the public service too!)
Have child 1
Get child 1's birth certificate
Add child 1 to a Medicare Card
Have child 2
Get child 2's birth certificate
Add child 2 to a Medicare Card
Become a citizen
Get an Australian passport (complete with photo!)
Get child 1 an Australian passport (complete with photo!)
Get child 2 an Australian passport (complete with photo!)
Get child 1 a British passport (complete with photo!)
Get child 2 a British passport (complete with photo!)
Renew my Australian passport (twice)
Renew my British passport (twice)
Renew my Driving Licence (at least five times)
Get child 1's driving licence
Get child 2's driving licence

And I've never had a single query, delay, drama, argument with officials or bureaucratic problem with any of them.

It's not hard. You find out what paperwork is needed, you get the paperwork together, you fill in the forms and off you go.

Hardly rocket science...

oz is great
no uk is great

oz is great
no uk is great

edited to remove this repeated statement.

Who cares, live there and if you dont like it then move, instead of moaning on about the situation you put yourself in, let other decide for themselves , simple.

I think queensland trasport were great seen as i have lost part of my sight from a brain op. I went and spoke face to face with someone in brisbane, had a list of questions to ask, they answered them all politely. I cgoit a licence over the counter and in 5 mins, not like the XXXX at DVLA that take weeks and weeks to andswr anything.

I was told that the optometrist had the last say on whether i drove or not.

The dvla has a strict guideline of being within 110degrees of site across and no less than a percentage of up and down etc. They think that you keep your eyes fixed on the road the whole time and dont allow for anyhting else.

Explained this to an ooptometrist and he laughed and said " can you move your neck freely"? Well there you go then youuve got 360 degree sight!

Brilliant and uncomplicated way.

Found banks really easy to deal with to event from uk.

People that post that they are having a hard time either have bad luck or have had on that day, or do not read and understand things properly.

but it makes people unsure, and sometimes after months and 1000s of pounds, waiting to hear about a CO etc, then read all the neg stuff, it just makes people doubt everything they have spent blood sweat and tears over for a year. Its onlty one or 2 peoples posts that are always negative, but you dont hear how good their new life is when they get there as they are off living it, you just hear all the negative ones.

This site has served me with so much info from helpful people that have been forced to not post anymore just by idiot trolls and people arguing for the sake of it.

Your last few posts are proving that you are one of the latter.

If it makes people unsure and re-question what they are doing then good. When we were emigrating there was hardly any negative posts on Oz as people seemed to scared to post. The odd few were shot down in flames, leaving the wife and I thinking Oz must be really rosey and all the more determined to go. The reality for us is so far from the flowery rosey posts that I feel it needs to be said. People will always make up their own minds and come anyway, they have spent too much time and effort for it to be any other way. With such a high return rate it can't be all it's cracked up to be for all people. If you don't like what I write then don't read it, and shouting is what children that lack attention do so please dont.

Why good? Your story is one of millions so why not give a balanced view as you have obviously lived in every suburb and done everyones different jobs and you have everyones personality and way of dealing with barriers and problems.

What you are saying most of the time is based on your experience, you have failed to adapt so get over it.

Try startting a thread on why you failed first

Arkons threads if nothing bring a smile to the majority of BE members, I personally have got time for him.

Some of his posts have given a view from both sides.

To be fair mate, wait till you get here then start gobbing off. I am correct that you are in the UK still?

Regards

Rich

So each post has to be a balanced view eh? Kermit the frog has got nothing on you has he? By your reasoning Tony Blair should be both conservative and labour. Stalin when giving speeches must also bestow the virtues of a free market economy as well as his Marxist views. You are talking total rubbish. The way a balanced representation of something occurs is for more than one person to air their contrary opinion and thus create a healthy debate leaving the reader to make up their own minds. But we can do it your way if you like…..

Australia is absolutely great and everything is better....but on the other had the UK is great and much better than Australia. I’ve found the crime worse in Oz, but got robbed 5 times in the UK so maybe it is worse…..

Stop being so naive and allow freedom of speech. You post your contrary views of Australia based on YOUR experiences here and that will create a nice balanced view.
