Any Brits out their relocated or relocating to Coffs Harbour? Beautiful area but what is it like to live there. Family life, sporting activities ie rugby for the kids, cricket for the kids, brass band for my kids? Schools look good but has anyone got first hand experience of the Catholic Schools in Coffs? I would just like any community info that reading a council web page does not provide. I will be working as a nurse and I know that there are hospitals in the area but what about admin/clerical working opportunities for my wife?
Is Coffs a safe family oriented place, pros and cons of the town if possible.
I am in two minds as is my family because we had previously decided on Adelaide as a destination. However we are not leaving UK until summer 2012 so we have plenty of time to decide. We just want to make the right choice so any light that can be shed would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
Coffs is a beautiful place to live, we lived there, me, hubby & 2 kids from 2005 - 2007, but due to work being hard to find, we decided to leave & try somewhere else in Oz. We knew straight away we had made a HUGE mistake as we loved the lifestyle, area, school, & our Friends.
We have been back in the Uk for nearly 2 years now, & we have decided to relocate back to Coffs, as we know that is the place we want our children to grow up in. Hubby now has other qualifications under his belt & i'm now qualified as a beauty Therapist.
There have been many threads about Coffs, just type Coffs in the search box & they may help, with schools, area's etc.
If i can help any further please let me know
Take care Paula

We are thinking we would like to end up in Coffs!
We have never been but been to Sydney and Byron. We tried to go once for whale watching but the weather was bad we had to turn around. My step brother and family (5 and 2) moved there from Sydney 2 years ago and have never looked back. They are Australian as is my step mother and they think we will love it. Laid back but things going on much better than Sydney for families because of costs and availability.
My dad thinks we should try Sydney for a while though partly because we can and we probably will have to as my husbands job is likely to happen there. I am a teacher and so more flexible except less jobs there as people are more settled.
Not sure I have helped but if we all end up there prehaps we will bump into each other

Really fancy here too but as mentioned the work situationa and the fact that its 4-5hrs either way to a Major City bothers me slightly from a work point of view
