Unfortunately the stupid Redland council is implementing a new planning scheme, rezoning many areas to be higher density. Our block is being rezoned and that will be confirmed end of this month. When we moved into our house last year we had planned on making it our home for the next 20 or 30 years and retiring in it. With a baby on its way, and possibly another on in a couple of years, our plans have had to change... We'll be moving to Birkdale/Thorneside in a month's time and will missing Ormiston and Cleveland, and all the convenience of the area. We don't know what we are doing with this house yet - sell or rent out?! Anyone interested in renting a 4-bedroom bungalow? :D Mrs JTL We might be interested in renting out as hopefully I can convince my hubbie to move over there. We stayed with friends in Ormiston in august and I love it there just need to find out about the high Schools in the area as we visited Wellington Point and my daughter was not impressed with the studies as she wants to do teaching and needs to take child care and they dont do it there. Already registered my younger one in Ormiston State Primary school. Just need to sort out house etc here in Perth. Oh yes, and get hubbie a job!!! Would be interested to know how much if your seriously thinking about it. Thanks Kath |

Re: Cleveland!!
PRELIMINARY NOTICE
We'll do the right thing and make a contribution to the rental market in January. 4beds 2bath 2lug. POOL. Bay glimpses (get rid of the neighbour's 2 bl@@dy trees and you'll have bay views! :D ) A bit of mowing but not too much. Neighbours are all loooong termers. Park at the end of the street. Bus to city from the street below. Halfway between Cleveland and Vic PT (Vic PT shopping is now better than Cleveland - Woolies (2), Bi-Lo, Aldi and KMart). The only downside is having to listen to the Cleveland train leave the station (5kms away) :D This will only be managed through an agent (not yet appointed) & available for two years. I interested PM me and I will forward agent's contact details when it is sorted. WW |

Carol My friends little boy goes there and she is very happy as he has cp and has trouble walking but the school has been very helpful. When I took Kate they went out of their way to show her round and even introduced her to the teacher!! would be great if we could tie things up here and get over, just need to convince my 15 year old as she doesnt wanna move again as she has just settled in here. Anyone with teenagers that way I would be really grateful if they could just give her a bit of insight to moving there as she thinks its the back of beyond and will never make friends (thought that when we moved here 10 months ago!!) Also, anyone know of any good agencies for industrial electricians/supervisory roles and what kind of work is going there. thanks Kath |

They also have mixed classes, so if he/she is ahead then they can be moved up or given extra work.

100km already? That's impressive. Well done kiddo. Do you think the school/kids would consider adopting Jock and walk him every morning and afternoon until we get home from work??? :p Just a thought. Did Spalen mention to you that your children were really brave again with Jock when they came over to drop off the chocolates? Oh, yes, please thank Spalen again for bringing me the boxes of chocolates. They're heavenly. Mrs JTL |
Re: Cleveland!!
Its really good that they encourage kids, it felt a really friendly school there, just need to find a decent High School, been told Alexander Hills is quite good and it seems to do the courses my daughter needs to get into teaching, shes desperate for one of those electronic baby things......i see they do them there part of the course

Re: Cleveland!!
Just a word of warning, we had our hearts set on the Wellington Point/Cleveland/Birkdale/Thornlands area, even paid the registration fee for Ormiston College... but after 6 weeks of looking for a rental we gave up and have moved to Bridgeman Downs. It does very much depend on your budget and expectations but if you are looking for a light airy 4 bed+ with aircon and pool for less than $700 per week don't hold your breath... they are there but do get snapped up very quickly. We even paid a deposit on one and then the tenants didn't move out!!...
We are now in a lovely 2 storey house with the required pool and aircon.. but not close to our firends... it takes about 40 minutes to Bayside.. Good luck everyone.. Julie |

Ok we dont have aircon, just the cheaper bay breezes. I'd better have a word with that property manager. I think they may be planning to pocket the difference and have a bloody good Xmas party on a Pacific Island somewhere at my expense :D WW |
