Probably as well as Brits would do with the citizenship test for immigrants to the UK

I had a go at a "suggested" test the other day and straight off the bat got about 17 out of 20. It can't be too difficult

I think I might take the test anyhow, even though I won't need to. I don't want moral high grounders saying that I'm not a proper citizen because I haven't passed the test.

Can't see anyone saying that, but if it has to be done, then just do it, and get over it.

The 4 year rule is not retrospective is it? The wording of the article seems to imply that all permanent residents currently in Australia will have to wait the 4 years before applying for citizenship?

Pheww, that's a relief. I thought it was the case but I was also left wondering if I had simply missed out one some recent update the legislation.

Thanks.
