Dear All,

I was just wondering what does they mean by 12 months before application for Australian citizenship?We have already spent 19 months in Australia now and in December can we leave Australia for short trips like 20 days or 30 days to overseas?Does this short trip during christmas may effect our citizenship application?

Does anybody have any idea or suggestion about taking a short trip during christmas,while he/she may have completed 16-22 months residency in Australia and about to apply for citizenship?

Please suggest and comment.

You must be in Australia as a permanent resident for 2 years out of the last 5 and 12 months out of the last 2 years not continuous so a few weeks out of the country will only delay your citizenship by a couple of weeks
