Talking of Christmas being just round the corner, what do you want Santa to bring you this year ?

Dont want much. All I want is for hubby to get job offer in NZ and to get my house sold asap.

Its VERY strange.

Was 40 degrees when i had xmas 2001 out there, and we still had the full roast with all the boiled trimmings.

Putting xmas decs up outside in shorts, bbqing the turkey (one fo the roaster bbqs), eating the dinner outside etc.

To be quite honest........i did'nt like it.

I did'nt like being away from my family at xmas.
I did'nt like not having an open fire to do chestnuts on.
I did'nt like not going for a walk with 10 layers on on xmas day.
I did'nt like the idea that there was DEFINATLY not going to be snow.

Xmas in the cold (with my family) is somthing i think i will miss.

I want santa to bring on christmas in oz (please let our sale go through!)

Christmas in the heat? Well i've done it twice and loved it, but maybe it was the novelty value? Last christmas here it was mild and sunny and felt very bland, i suppose its better if you live somewhere where it actually snows.
Can't wait for my kids to unwrap their surfboards and get to the beach for a turkey barbie:D ;)

I miss the mid winter holiday (that was the idea of christmas) and the family. Unfortunately I have to sit indoors and eat bland food that the German MIL has knocked up. She hates the sun so no BBQs.

It rained in Sydney last Xmas.

sounds like Chrimbo is the one thing that you never really get used to. For the beachbums/surfers - only time you want to be "cold"

I'm looking forward to Chrimbo in Oz 2004 (fingers crossed). My husband's got a huge family, many of whom aren't the easiest people to get on with. We made the decision a few years ago, to always do Christmas with our own family (us and two kids) and so we don't have the hassle of doing a turkey (veggies anyway) and sitting around watching cr*p TV. I'll miss my brother's family, but at least I won't have to get the presents for hubby's family (9 brothers and sisters) so it'll be less stress!!!

All of my xmas cards from oz have been hilariously snowy!

Crimbo on the beach, bring it on. Whilst everyone back in the UK is dreaming of a grey christmas, I fully intend to be running naked around Maslin Beach with my Baubles hanging proudly.

The other good thing about the change of seasons is that Jaz and my daughters birthdays will now be in Summer instead of the dreary Novembers they are thusfar used to (Ice cold Horizontal rain etc...)

I don't know if its just my sentimental reminiscing but Christams's used to have the cold weather, the crisp frosts in the morning etc but I havn't seen that for a few years. Its just another grey day in the calander. Don't get me wrong I love all the other aspects of Christmas but the weather aspects of it now are just grey and dull. So for me I think that Christmas on the beach with sun will make a refreshing change.

Though I think I will still want to keep all the other traditions alive.
