Default childcare in brisbane

Hoping to be out in Brisbane by the end of the year. Have 3 children, 4, 3 and 7 months and was hoping someone could give advice regarding childcare. I have heard that it is quite difficult to get nursery placements, has anyone else had any experience of this!

It depends. I think if you are close to the city it can be hard, but our child care center in Warner seems to have loads of places.

I also think it's easier to find places for the older children because there is a smaller career to child ratio.

Hi there,

God where to start! Have you started the application process, if not then I'd recommend going through an agent as it takes away a lot of the stress, it can be quite expensive though, on average £3000. I to am really nervous and excited at the sametime. Go through spells of wondering if we're doing the right thing and then reading some of the threads on the website and getting very scared. But at the end of the day if you don't try it then you'll never know and you can always come home!

Have a look at www.ourbrisbane.com which tells you about suburbs and schools etc and I've been in touch with a school teacher in brisbane who has given me list of good primary schools which was brilliant help.

I think if you go with a realistic view that it's going to be hard, it's not a paradise island and that it will take months to settle in, if at all then you'll be fine(well that's what I'm telling myself).

Hope this helps!
