Question Childcare benefit.... check my maths!

OK, so we get 36.46% childcare benefit from Centrelink

Centre's fees are $59 a day

So I make our % to be $21.51..... Centre has only been deducting $14.60...

Who is right, me or them?

Just want to make sure I've got my facts right before I go blazing in there demanding my money back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is similar to the medicare benefit, it is a % of the scheduled fee!

If the child centre charges higher, you still only get 36.46% of the basic scheduled fee.

You can ask them, but don't go blazing in

They are!!!!! You're not working it out right. It is not a % of the fees but a % of the childcare benefit.

As a family day care provider I have to work CCB out for each and every family that come to me. Now these figures may be different for a kindy, but for family day care the full figures that centrelink pay are:

For under school age: $2.31 per hour. Capped at $173.50 unless you are entitled to over 50 hours.
For schoool age: $1.96 per hour. Capped at $147.50 unless you are entitled to over 50 hours.

It can be confusing as they don't explain it very well. I've been asked about it a couple of times by concerned parents in the past.
