Child Tax Fund
Hi all
Can anyone tell me what happens to the £250 that you receive when your children are born? Are they still entitled to it or do you have to give it back?
Thanks
Nic

Re: Child Tax Fund
Our youngest's £250 is still invested back in the UK and as the fund belongs to them personally I don't see how the government could take it back. To qualify you had to be a British Citizen born after a certain date and I don't remember any other qualifications so I think your kids fund should be fine

Thanks for the reply, did you tell them your new address was in Australia or did you change the address to another UK one?
Thanks

Re: Child Tax Fund
We gave them a relatives UK address simply because it was easier than trying to get the bank to use our Aussie address.

Re: Child Tax Fund
I just called 2 days ago about this as we leave in 3 weeks for Queensland. I was advised it would stay in this country, but to phone them when we arrive in oz to give them our details there. Once the child reaches 18 they are still entitled to get the money!!! I hope this helps.
