Hi Andy,
Hope this ain't the case, going for meds on wednesday (22) at Gatwick.
Been a smoker for a while (2 bloody long) but given up for 1 1/2 yr, hoping this makes a difference.
Did you get a letter saying to have the medicals done?

The only reason they would ask you for another chest xray if there were any signs of TB - scarring on the lungs, which would show up on an xray. The xray could of been a bad one, or maybe damaged in transit. I reckon you will have to take another xray on arrival in Oz (Health Undertaking, Form 815). Never heard of anyone being rejected for a chest infection. So don't be scared!!

My other half got a chest ingection & pnemonia about 6 weeks befofe x_rays and scarring showed up which ended with a refferral to Sydney. 2 Weeks later got asked for more details from the consultant or GP asking their opinion on a re-occurence.

3 weeks later visa issued after having to sign an undertaking to book a medical examination within 4 weeks of arrival.

So nothin really to worry about other than a bit more delay
