Hi

am coming over soon for a reccie and visiting Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in one hit!! (indecisive or what).

Would like to make this a holiday also and was wondering if anyone knew;

1. where the neighbours filmset is and do they do any touristy things?

and

2. where is steve irwins zoo? I belive Q'land but not sure where exactly

I would love to say that it's just for the kids but really it's for me also!!

As well as the neighbours tour there is also a neighbours night held in The Elephant and Wheelbarrow pub, this includes 3 'stars' attending, a quiz and sometimes music from Dr. Karls real life band. I met stuart, toadie and connor when I went!! Its a big backpacker thing! I think we got tickets from the YHA shop in St Kilda. Enjoy if you make it!

Hiya i know you want to do the cheesy things but you really should consider the blue mountain tour when you are in Sydney, it is amazing and well worth every penny spent on it.

I too wanted to see where the Neighbours "Ramsay Street" was, (sad I know), but couldn't be bothered with an organised tour so we found it ourselves. The real name of the street is Pin Oak Court and it's in the Melbourne suburb of South Vermont. We bought an A-Z of the area to explore Melbourne and used that to find our way to S.Vermont.

Steve Irwin's zoo is Australia Zoo in Beerwah which is about an hours drive north of Brisbane.

Also if you want to be really sad, while you're in the Sydney area, you could go to Palm Beach where Home & Away is filmed. The beach there is stunning. Again it's about an hour north of Sydney.

Thanks all for your help. I do also want to do "uncheesy" things so Blue Mountains is a great idea. Any other must sees?

If you've got the time a trip to Fraser Island is the perfect way to de-stress and chill after the touristy things............................................ ..

It's about an hour's drive north of Brisbane. It's fairly easy to get to on public transport too, with the zoo running shuttles from all over the place.

[QUOTE=lissysarah]Hi

Don't forget Dreamworld, Seaworld and Movie World. Dreamworld is the best though if you were to choose only one. Don't buy your tickets from here though as it is cheaper over there. When in Brisbane go to the tourist shop on the Queens Street Mall. It is in the middle next to Hungry Jacks (basically looks like Burger king) as they offer different deals on trips and show you everything available. And go to southbank, take towels and swimmers for the kids so you can visit the city beach. It's brilliant. Take a train to oz zoo as the scenery is great.

Melbourne zoo is a must visit. It a real zoo and look out for the goodie bags for the kids in the tourist shops there. You can catch a tram there from the city centre.

If you want a nice walk, start at St Kilda and walk to the end , there are parks along the way for the kids with great facilities, or you could start your walk from Port Melbourne (tram goes there) and walk down to StKilda where you can have some lunch or dinner. And you HAVE to check out the cake shops in St Kilda,(think it's called Ackland Street). MMMMMMMM

I was on the Neighbours set a couple of weeks ago....didn't recognise anyone, except the guy who plays Paul Robinson, but then again I haven't seen Neighbours since Kylie and Jason left
