Default Cheaper in OZ?

In one week hubby, myself and toddler are going to Perth for a reccie.
I need to get hold of a swim vest for my son for safety as we are staying in a house with a pool and without a fence round it. Although we plan to be out and about most of the time.
Would I be better off waiting to get there to purchase one? Would it be cheaper there?

I don't know about the swimmers part, But, I thought you had to have your pool fenced by law...

Anyway I hope you have a great time.

Oh I don't know.

Does anyone know if this is true?
The photos don't show a fence but maybe it does have one now, I will check.
Thank you

The pool is supposed to be fully fenced with no direct access from the house to the pool.

It depends on when the pool was installed as to the specific safety requirements (prior 92/93). I would be very surprised to find a rental property not meeting regulations. You can check out the requirement of Joondalup City Council at the link below.

Lisa,

You should be able to get a swim vest in Big W for about $35, also access to the pool may be like our rental and have a fly screen & door (with a very high handle for opening) in the way from the door leading to the pool.

Enjoy your recce.
