Get yourself to London then...
LHR-HKG on Oasis Hong Kong.
HKG-SIN via Jetstar
SIN-PER via Tiger
PER-MEL via Tiger.
Lots of legs and a pain in the arse but unquestionably the cheapest option.

try travelsupermarket.com and expedia. Also try around from different airports, not necessarily London but even Scotland sometimes you get good deals from looking at it from that view.

If you can wait until the first week in September they will be alot cheaper. There is five of us flying out the first week in September and we got it for 3,400 euro's (I know you are flying from England and we are fying from Irelans) the number of the Travel Agent is 01 016710722 and they are in Dublin. Hope this will help.

Hello
Try this guys travelzoo - here is the link to the search page
http://uk.supersearch.travelzoo.com/...urce=901001003
Just enter your dates and they recommend about four companies, try clicking on KAYAK they are very competitive.
However, in the end I actually found a better deal, popping into a travel agents www.travelmood.com (they have about 5 or 6 branches) and sat down with one of the sales people and they topped any price I found on the web!
Take it easy and best of luck with the flight hunting!

We're also in the process of pricing up flights, and agree they seem to be quite pricey at the moment.
I looked on Singapore Air last night and got a price of £2K for two ads and 2 kids to travel on the 19th August which I thought was good...it's the best I've got so far!. To travel early August it was approx £2,300 for the four of us and this is one way.
This was also travelling from Manchester.

For your dates its pricing up at about GBP500, not a huge saving - for that you get:
-15kg baggage allowance on Tiger (if you have more you'd have to stump up)
-A total journey time of 48hrs, including 18hrs in SIN, you might end up getting a hotel further reducing the saving
-Pay on board for everything on Jetstar & Tiger
-All flights booked on seperate tickets, so if there is a long delay on the first sector, you are basically screwed - Oasis would be under no obligation to help you out
-No ability to thru-check baggage so you would have to do this 3 times, maybe 4 times in MAN, LGW, HKG & SIN.
-Tight seat pitch on Jetstar & Tiger
Personally, I'd only consider this itenerary if I had a week and wanted to stop off in both SIN & HKG for a couple of days......then with hotels it could work out close to the same price as one of the more established airlines.
