Can only advise on flights from Aus to UK. Flew JAL, overnight in Narita made it bearable...really good service...believe it or not I always ask for the last row, aisle seat in a 747...lots of party space down there...and your own toilet.

I have used www.ebookers.com
www.airlinenetwork.co.uk
www.expedia.co.uk
www.austravel.com
www.cheapflights.com

Every site is worth checking out as flight consolidators can have different fares for the same flight so it is a case of shopping around for the best deal.

Generally you can guarentee that web travel agents are cheaper than high street agents usually cos the web agents offer a disocunt for booking online.

Hope this helps

Jo

Check out the Sunday Times travel supplement, usually some good deals in the ads in the back.

Hi there,

We passed Austravel shop the other day and they had some good deals on both one way and return. Not sure of the web address. Sorry.

Hi Don

Just booked a business class flight to NZ with Singapore Airlines (return) £910 for April. Found it on the ebay website. Obviously these fights are limited and a question of being in the right place at the right time, but well worth a regular look.

Good Luck

We are doing the same thing - looking round for cheap flights (2 adults, 1 child)

My husband got a good quote from Austravel one day. We phoned them 5 days later and the quote had gone up £300 each. I think its a case of booking at the time.

We are now looking at a quote from Travelbag among others.

Hope to go on a look-see in July this year. Perth and Brisbane areas.

Does anyone know if it would be cheaper to book internal flights when in Oz. It seems that a straightforward flight is quite reasonable, its when you want to add internal flights then the price goes up.

We are being quoted Approx £900 - £1100 pp for flights UK - Perth - Brisbane - Melbourne (relatives) - UK

Does this seem reasonable.

Regards

We flew into Melbourne and out of Melbourne with Malaysian then did the internal flights separate. It will cost more if you fly into one airport from the UK and then out of another back to the UK. How about flying into say Perth get and internal flight to brisbane then a one way to melbourne and then head back to Perth for your return home to the UK.

You will find that much cheaper it's just are you wanting to head back to Perth?

We used virgin blue to fly between Melbourne and Sydney and could not fault it. It is similar to Easyjet no frills. You can book from here on www.virginblue.com.au

We booked online and had no problems. You will just need to check they do the routes you are looking at.

It was about 60 pound return to sydney which I thought was a good price. The earlier you book the cheaper the fare ie first come first served

Hope this helps

Try www.virginblue.com and then compare their prices with Qantas for the same journey they play off against each other and vary their prices week by week

One way or return?
We got our one way flights from LHR to Christchurch via Singapore for 2 nights, for 395GBP inc.taxes.

We booked through www.ebookers.com

There may be cheaper ones, but its not bad.
