Changing Scottish qualification to Victoria ones
Hi I was wondering how I could change my carpentry papers over to australian ones. I am working as a carpenter but getting paid as a labourer. I am unsure wether I will have to return to college or something. I was going to ask the union but I cant get in there till the Easter break. any info appreciated
Thanks

When we came here, many, many years ago, my OH didn't have to change anything. Worked with a firm to begin with, got his licence to work as a subcontractor. That was it.

Yeah I didn't think I had to change anything, they are paying some Irish lads as a carpenter that started a month before me. I dunno if there just pulling a fast one??

Would definitely query it. Doesn't seem right.
