Changed mind on destination at last minute....
 

We have been planning and going through this emigrating lark for nearly two years now...Brisbane was to be our destination - no doubt!

Sat down chatting last night and have suddenly decided that maybe it won't be!!!

Are gonna fly into Perth, spend a couple of weeks checking it out, then off to Adelaide for a few days to meet up with cousin and family and check it out there...then gonna fly to Brissie and check that out!!

Anyone else planning on moving out there with no idea where they want to live?

BTW, we dont intend to do a validation trip, just gonna go for it!!

Are we crazy?

Yes, we were going to Perth, have been to have a look and loved it. Sure it is for us. But feel I need something to compare it to. So if and when we get visa we will go via Brisbane, see hubby's family and then I will maybe have some idea.
I think its better to check and compare before we find jobs, schools etc and wonder what if. We will never have the chance again to have such a extended holiday? (I know its shouldn't be looked on as a holiday maybe I mean reccie).

i'm glad someone feels the same way. Hence our holiday/reccie trip in feb trying to cover as much ground in 30 days as is possible only got 3 kids in tow But hey lifes toooo short ENJOY :beer:

Quick help get me there! :eek:
we have had to change are visa due to hubby's job ,binder/finisher being removed from a 137 which we had a government sponsorship to Victoria.so we're now having to go on a 136 and need to get some evidence for thew sponsorship.Help !! :scared: it's been Melbourne for to long to change know :( How much and what do these guys need? (apparently sexual favors ant enough) ;) :D

Absolutely not, totally understand what your going through! Youre not alone there and Im sure there are 00s more in your shoes including us...

We've done totally the same thing. We were always going to Syndey, never any other plan, until about 3 weeks ago we watched 'a new place down under' or whqatever it is called, and they were in Perth, and started talking about it as an option. Having pretty much decided that Perth isn't for us after all we then started a conversation about Brisbane, my fiancé's brother (our sponsor) lives there, and we had both been thinking about it without actually discussing it. At the moment Brissie sounds like the most likely conclusion, but hey, it could all change next week...! Think we will take a little while in each place to make absolutely sure when we get there. Also, it could be disctated by where we get jobs in the first place.

We too have had doubts about where to go and thought Brisbane was for us then my friend moved to Perth 5 weeks ago. She phoned and was full of happiness and loving it, I could hear the kids screaming with laughter in the pool, it was fantastic and by her sheer excitement I was drawn to the idea of Perth and hubby said he had been thinking of Perth for a while. We did a lot of looking at suburbs, schools and searching the net at all sorts of stuff, it seemed fabulous BUT we decided it was not for us after all It is unsettling when you get thoughts of not going to the "right" place, we felt upside down, not knowing what we really wanted! We decided to go with our original plan and go with Brisbane as job opportunities seem to be better and it doesn't seem as isolated. Perth is a beautiful place but not for us! Hope you find a place to call home, it has to feel right! We have never been to Australia, nor are we going on a validating trip, its just pay and go!!! We have friends in Brisbane who moved from UK 9 years ago and were going to live in the same suburb to be near to them to feel a little comfort but have now decided to look elsewhere and be a drive away. We too feel mad but life is for living,tomorrow is another day!!
