Our agent has told us that the only people that can certify our documents are solicitors, judges, justice of the peace, magistrates or notary publics. You can't ask the police or a teacher, doctor etc as the TRA won't accept it. I think your best thing would be to contact a local solicitor or your local magistrates court.

I just got my documents certified yesterday.

I emailed a few local solicitors to ask if they did it. Some do some don't.

Most seem to charge 20 pounds.

The one i used charged 5 pound for the 1st doc and 2 pound for each thereafter.

So 4 copies cost me 11 pounds and they will be used to doing this and know what is needed.

Just ring your local magistates court, they'll do it for free before court. I'm sure it has to be a JP or solicitor.
My docs for employment could be certified by my manager but for my visa I've had to do them again by JP.

hi there i work at our local college of FE, i asked our principal to certify my docs, I got them back with a YES from the TRA!
I copied all the docs 3 TIMES, turned them over and ran them through the printer with this on the back which he signed
He also signed my stat dec

I certify that this is a true copy of the original, which I have sighted. Official Stamp

Date:………………â ¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â ¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€ ¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€ ……..

Signature……………â€ ………………… ………………… €¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â €¦...

Title of Certifier…………… …………….… ………………… ………………

All it cost me was a bottle of single malt 12 year old irish whiskey, the solicitors wanted to charge about £7 per sig, i had over 90 copies altogether I needed signing
whiskey £21.00, solicitors over £600.00
saving and TRA passes! priceless!
good luck

When we arrived in Perth I found I needed some more certified copies and it turns out JPs in Austalia certify docs and they are not allowed to charge for the service

To top it off my local JP lives about 10 doors down the road!
