Hi Folks,
Does anyone know how long the wait is from the granting of citizenship to the ceremony, in particular in the Manly area? The official word is 2 months however I've heard of people who were granted citizenship (letter of confirmation) last September who are still waiting for a ceremony date. Additionally can you nominate a different area/suburb for the ceremony or are you bound to the local council area that you reside in?
Thanks,
Methven

Have you asked the council how frequently they organise ceremonies?
You normally have to attend a ceremony from the council where you live but you can ask DIAC if they have any alternative (bear in mind that the people on the helpline may just say no ... )
