Centrelink - when will they get there act together!?
I have just received this update from my assurer ...
... "Just rang to chase up the letter from Centalink and was informed that the person that processed the Assurance of support forms should not have processed the forms and that we were to go to the Sydney Haymarket centre. This is the only place that processes these forms. Sorry they say she is new.
I have made the first available date for an interview on 21 July, and will have to fill out the forms for a third time as the first set are no were to be found and the second set went to Melbourne, inexplicably" ...
It seems never ending at the moment, there we were thinking we should hear this week and it would be time to lodge the bond

Dear Chilliman
I really know how you must feel, Centrelink has played us really bad as well.
First, it took them forever (well, about two months) to have an interview slot for our assurer and then they forgot to send him the letter to lodge the bond!!! Make sure your assurer gets this crucial piece of paper right away after the interview.
Wish you all the best!!

Well just to balance this out a bit, we were dead scared of going to Centrelink as we were expecting long queu`s of deadbeat people and drug addicts in some Dickensian dingy building being seen by evil twats from hell. Like in England.
How surprised were we when the lady at the front desk was ultra-helpful, and even got us squeezed in to an appt with a lady straight away... who was also ultra helpful and friendly. We got all our papers sorted out no problem at all.
Also very friendly and helpful in Medicare. I was shocked.
Seems Australians have discovered customer service and manners.

Just spent 2 days after vacation losing it down the phone to Telstra, Integral Energy (electricity) etc: it appears that no Australian company is remotely capable of organising a ***** in a ********.
Month after month their direct debits are screwed up: we have had to send off 4 - yes, count them - four application form for them to Integral: they have acknowledged that they have actioned them twice yet still don't debit my account and say I am a late payer and charge a late fee..............
My son runs a business in Sydney employing 200 people: he told me years ago that the only thing that keeps Oz above water is the immigrants - I pooh-poohed it at the time but crikey was he right!
