Hello,
Misses is currently Volunteering at an Accounting firm and is looking at applying at Coles, Target, Woolies and Shopping Center stores for casual jobs.
Is there a better way to apply than just online at their websites?
She is not too particular how many hours, but wants to help with the house budget- Sydney and good areas in Sydney are not easy with one paycheck.
Help appreciated.

Son in grade 12 got a job in one of the big aussie stores.
On line application, then if they hire ( they haven't this year ) they took 250 applications from the many. Whittled them down to 100 in group interviews.
Then team interview where you are in a group and asked to role play etc, 3 managers/trainers are watching you, taking notes. If you get through that, ( personality profile, group skills, people skills, selling skills etc), I think it was 50 by now they took 20 to individual interviews, but that was almost 2 months after the group interview. Then a few more weeks and they checked all his references. Then finally the phone call - he was one of the lucky 12.
After that 30 hours paid training and on line assessments. If you dont pass they give you another go.
And too easy
he is now a trolley boy!!!! and a bit of time on the cash registers. But yes on line is the only way they hire.

My son works for Woolies part time. I just went to the cig counter and asked for a form, he filled it in and handed it back.
He had interview a week later and got the job, but it wasnt a big interview thing like others have mentioned. Think it was just one woman interviewing three of them together.
However have to say our local Coles, Woolies and Target takes on more teens as they are usually cheaper.

It depends. You have to do the online registering but you can also go into any of the stores and ask. If they have vacancies they will give you a form but you need to be registered before they'll look at the form. - From what we've found and been told by various stores anyway.

MacDonalds make you register online though - my son had been given the job but still had to fill out the online thing

I wonder if that's just a QLD thing then? Certainly not the always case in SA with the department stores. Target being one, also KMart and Myers let her leave a form.

Could anyone who has had or son/daughter has had etc a job along these lines (Coles/Woolies etc) let me know the hourly rate they pay generally? I've been trying to research online, but it would appear not many jobs have the wages posted in adverts. I'm guessing its minimum wage/hour? Do you get any sort of store discount for working in that store?
Just trying to gather as much info as possible really for future use
Many thanks if you can assist
