Carlton Hotel - Singapore
We booked our flights today for Brisbane through Singapore Airlines and have a 3 night stopover in Singapore staying at the Carlton Hotel (Bras Basah Road).
This particular hotel was recommended by a Singapore Airlines staff member, but we would like to know if anyone has stayed at this hotel and what they thought of it ?
Flying out 25th August: Heathrow - Singapore - Brisbane

Hi
I work for Kuoni and I can tell you that it is a nice 4 star property. Good clean and comfortable.....exactly what you need after that long flight!

Singapore Airlines said it was a nice hotel and the equivilent of a European 5 star as the Far East hotel standards are supposidly higher than in Europe ? hopefully this is true as we've never been to the Far East before.
I'll let you know how we get on as I'm sure the following migrants will want recommendations on hotels in Singapore.

The Carlton seems to be a first class hotel: I have stayed many times at the old Westin (now Swisshotel) a couple of hundred yards from it. in fact, when the pool at the Westin was being refurbished a year or two back the Carlton pool was made available. In May we didn't know whether we could stay an extra night in the Swisshotel and the Carlton was our choice - when it came down to it we didn't have to move though.
You will find the Singapore standards way above those in the UK!
