Default Careers in Child Protection and Youth Justice in Victoria

I'm passing this career info on behalf of a colleague:

UK, we are coming to you! Come and hear about careers in Child Protection and Youth Justice at the Department of Health and Human Services, Victoria...

Excited to be visiting London on the 23rd and 24th February, and Dublin on the 1st and 2nd March 2017, to talk to experienced professionals and recently qualified social and welfare workers about careers in child protection and youth justice. We'll also pop in to universities across, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee to meet with social work students. To ensure your place at one of these seminars or should you have any questions, please email your contact details and CV to [email protected] or [email protected]. Be quick as places are limited!

Are they actually offering sponsorship or do people have to sort out their own visas?

Confirmed: they sponsor them on a 457 - they also provide relocation reimbursement. 👍

This could be interesting for my wife We are not in the UK but moving to Victoria in a couple of months...

She's been working with children and youths all her life and want to continue doing this; she has been a teacher for 20 years, left 2 years ago to complete a Masters in Counselling and will be finished in a couple of weeks (finishing the thesis and completing the 600 hours of practicum!).

I wonder if she'll be qualified to work with such institution

Cheers

I'd say its definitely worth getting in touch with them. Its rare to see a State doing outreach like this these days (more common 10-15 years ago) so grab the opportunity while its there. If they are gong to the extent of visiting the UK they have hopefully done some research on transferring or RPL-ing qualificatons.
