Wink Career Change

Has anyone got their visa on a certain skill and then decided not to do that job when they get over there - a total career change.

Is there any comeback on this? we would like to hear your stories.

Cheers

Jo

I have a friend who has been here 7 years, he come out as a carpenter and has never used that skill since being here. I think i am right in saying you dont have to get a job in that field and no one checks up on you!

I was asking this question on here a few days back - A few people responded that once your in country you can more or less live and do what you want with no comebacks. This as far I can see is only true for skilled indendant visa - I am an electrical fitter in Uk but I was considering doing a few years as a commercial diver out in Oz. What are you planning on doing.

Bazza,

My husband is a brickie at the moment but he doesn't really want to do that when he goes over to OZ so maybe we will look at starting some new venture - we have a couple of years to be thinking about it.
