Caravan sites or self contained accommodation

Hi
Just wondering if anyone knows of any caravan sites in Melbourne. . We are just sitting here trying to work out the type of accommodation to go for when we validate our visa in Nov, 2005. And was wondering about caravans or self contained , as we would preferably like somewhere that has a kitchen. we are trying to compare costs, locations etc.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure of your exact requirements or for how long - but pm or email BlueRobot on this site I know him and his family stayed a few places while they did a bit of travelling including Melbourne area. Only had good things to say.

Cheers Sandra

I'd think very carefully before going to stay in Frankston...not just because its 45km away from the city.

Have a look on www.citysearch.com.au, there are loads of options on there for self-contained apartments. Depending on how close you want to be to the city, there are other Big4 caravan parks on www.big4.com.au that are in better areas and are closer to the city.

Now you have said it - big 4 is who BlueRobot will recommend

I have heard from them personally they rate the places

When I was on my working holiday visa, we stayed in Big4 campsites all over Oz. Great value considering money was a bit tight at the time!

I'd still avoid Frankston though...

That sounds like seriously good value - let us know how you get on. We'd definitely consider that for the first month when we arrive.
