Anyone know if any car insurance companies account for UK no claims or do you have to start from scratch

We found a couple who would take a letter from our Australian Insurance company and they took the 5 years (which I think is the max in Oz). Funnily enough I am on confused.com getting a quote for my car in the UK!
Maybe email some companies direct for their advice?

Yes they do take UK claims into account - bring a no-claims letter with you or an insurance renewal showing your no claims

For the record RACQ did ask to see proof of our UK no claims when we got their insurance.

I don't actually recall ever being asked on insurance if I had an Australian Licence (mind you, my memory isn't that great now
)I agree that the insurer is likely to ask for the proof of No Claims when you make a claim, unless you provide it at the beginning.

Not in my experience, its probably about half the price here in OZ compared to the UK.
You might want to shop a round a bit

Mine for Fully Comp, $400 excess on 3 litre car is $412.00 per year.
But on top of that, is the Compulsory Third Party Cover, included in the registration costs, which was $539 combined registration and CTP cover.
So, the total of registration and insurance is $951 per year
The UK comparison would be
Road Tax £170 plus Comp Insurance £411.60 = £581.60 or about $1360
UK cost is about 43% higher than Australia.

The UK car did have bigger engine, but given its age and the values being fairly similar it was still a lot more expensive.
