JUST GOT MY VISA...AT LAST!!!!!!!!....BOOKED FLIGHTS TO BRISBANE IN 3 WEEKS,HAVE TO GET TO MACKAY ,600 MILES NORTH OF BRISBANE,DO YOU THINK I SHOULD GET A CAR OR FLY,ANY ADVICE APPRECIATED

We flew in it was really good as you got a good view of Mackay! It was about $89 one way. It takes 1hr 30 mins approx.

This is one website you can check for prices and it has all 3 airlines on there that fly to Mackay from Brisbane.(i would check there websites aswell as these can sometimes be cheaper)

Driving its about 12hrs maybe more with stops that is what i have heard but i have never done it (so cannot comment)we went to Rockhampton and that was not a bad drive. Here is just 2 of many car hire sites on the web:

I'd fly - we flew to Sydney and then flew to brisbane - hour and a half flight - no way we could have driven - suffered from bad jet lag!

Thats a 1000km journey. Although I have driven it I would strongly recommend a flight.
