Car Hire Brisbane
We need to hire a car when we arrive in Mach for about 2 weeks or untill we can buy a new one. Any idea of cheap but good companies for brisbane airport? or what have others done on arrival to the airport?

We used

Looked at eastcoast but they worked out more expensive. Got a Toyota Avalon as a free upgrade via Avis.

Whatever you do, NEVER use ABEL. The MD/owner is called Nathan Conn and is well named.

Best to go to all the websites and check the final prices. Depending on demand prices can be all over the place, and you can get a nice 4x4 cheap than a med saloon some days.
Check for the airport loading, and return times as part days even by an hour count as a new day. Budget have always been good for me.
Check the insurance cover too. Beware tyres, windscreen, roof damage as some companies won't include it.

Re: Car Hire Brisbane
We have used a hire car on several holidays all over the world, including brisbane, africa, america, france, spain and Italy. On all these occassions we have booked through Holiday autos and over a 20 year period we have never had a problem, and their prices are good.
Before our visit to brisbane this July we checked out all the hire companys but found holiday autos to be no more expensive than the competition and we were allowed to pick up the car at coolangatta airport and return it to brisbane airport at no extra charge.
I hope this helpful, check out their wedsite,
Mark and Track.

we used Andy's auto rentals, Logan. They picked us up and dropped us back again as part of service and paid our parking ticket for us( we did pay them back!).They do airport drops as well.

Many rental companies will have a large excess such as $3000 and then charge (option) about $20 a day to reduce the excess to say $750.
This is expensive insurance. If you have or intned to get travel insurance look for policies which include vehicle rental excess insurance in the price.
I bought annual multi-trip travel insurance from 1Cover (for abput $400) and the excess reduction was included. Came in very handy when I was billed over $700 by Abel for a dent I did not make in the vehicle.
