Smile Car hire in Brisbane!

Hi

We are off to Brisbane on 12th October for 3 weeks to have a look round and hopefully find where we would like to live if and when DIMIA finally process our application.

I have 2 questions on car hire :-

1) Can anyone recommend any reputable companies in Brisbane (preferably through personal experience)?
2) I remember reading on here ages ago that you could buy insurance from a UK company for about £65 that covered you for the crash damage waiver excess, I've had a quick search but can find nothing, does anyone know if this is true or just a figment of my imagination?

Many thanks

MichaelB

Hi we have rented a car from East Coast on two occasions. We had no problems with them and even got upgraded once. They are competitive also. Have fun!

Hi

We're using HERTZ from Brisbane airport, they are fairly reasonable and we can drop the vehicle off at Bundaberg when we're finished with it.

We are in brisbane now and are currently using East Coast, very helpful, cheaper than the others when ringing round and will drop off for the car for you or deduct the taxi fare with a receipt if they can not get a driver.
Richie.
