without trying to be trite...

2nd hand cars will cost what ever you're willing to pay for them. there's a dealer at the top of my road who has ones from about $2000 up to $16,000 - it depends entirely on what you're looking for!

there are PLENTY of used car dealers all over brisbane - with a couple of suburbs having whole roads full of them (the "moorooka mile", and a strip of dealers on the gympie road). there's some who do all sorts of cars, and there's some that specialise in 4x4s, old 4x4 Fords (like 1970s ones - they're v cool!), and even one in buranda that does souped up boy racer cars!!!

HI try this link for used cars...

http://carsguide.news.com.au/?from=cm

We are taking our Mitsu Delica with us as we have found them to be alot cheaper in UK between £2 & £5K and in au $15 & $22K for same model as ours and this still worked out cheaper even when adding all the tax's & shipping etc on top.....only heheadaches all the paperwork etc that goes with it - but will be worth it in the end as knowing that it will be rereliable out weighed all costs esp as were taking it travelling when out there.

But if your wanting a little run-a-round im sure there are bargains to be had!!

Good Luck!
