Hi,

Just wondering if doctor can tell you on day of medicals if everything is ok or do they need to wait on blood test results. If so, can you contact doctor at a later date to find out? Also, are the medicals sent to Adelaide by the doctor? We will be getting our Meds in Glasgow hopefully around august and want to send our police checks around the same time.

Our doctor told me to ring after a few days to check the blood test results were back and that they were OK. They can only tell you so much though as any decisions are made at the LCU and not by the panel doctor.

Our medicals were sent to Adelaide, but lots of people send them to the LCU in Sydney. I don't really know why some get told Adelaide and other Sydney, but I don't think it's makes too much difference.

But if they had said you had a B or C then they couldn't tell you whether you'd pass or fail the medical is what I meant.

They can only tell you that THEY THINK it's Ok, but can't be certain on if you will pass or not.

we asked and was told all was ok with the xrays and medicals.The doctor just said if you dont hear from us within the next couple of days you will know that blood tests were fine and it will all be on its way to oz.and it did within the week!

I asked, and he said pending blood tests I was in great shape. They are assessing your health, you have every right to know what they find.

We did blood tests and X-rays a week before the medicals. Doctor said that they were fine. I asked what catagory we were all in and he said all As. He said that he would have told us if there was any need for concern or further checks. I think you should ask - most docs will be ok about this. I would be worried if they felt they couldn't discuss their findings with you.

Oh, by the way - ours were sent by Royal Mail signed for, by the docs, to Sydney ( 457 temp visa ). The visa was issued 9 days later.
