If your job comes onto the MODL you get an extra 15 points!! That's the difference The MODL usually gets updated about every 6 months I think.

At last. I know the answer! Pick me pick me pleeeeese.
Sol - skilled occupations list. You must have a sol occupation to be able to apply for skilled migration (136 I think is the category)
MODL - migratory occupations in demand list. If in addition to being on the sol your occupation is on the modl you get extra points and ( allegedly) priority processing.
Go to the DIMIA website - it's really helpful

Allegedly is very much the case. Our agent, based in Adelaide, said it really does depend on firstly, who your case officer is and secondly, their workload. Ergo if it is a snotty nosed lazy git you've got a slim chance of getting it done early, if it is a snotty nosed lazy git with a few cases, you've got no chance. We live in hope we get the workaholic who has just found their desk is empty when ours lands on it

They still might qualify if they can get enough points elsewhere.
