Can I claim tax back as a 457 spouse?
Hi all,
I came to Oz last august on a working holiday visa and started working fulltime the following month. A couple of months into being here my boyfriend was offered sponsorship and went onto the 457 visa, I did the same as his spouse. We have recently parted and I will be leaving Oz in around 4 weeks time. I have been in the same job since last Sept, starting on the working holiday visa and then switiching to the 457 once his sponsorship came through. Can anyone tell me if I will be able to claim back my tax and super?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thank you

If you complete a tax return, you will be given the correct allowances for your residency, and any overpayment of tax will be refunded to you.
During any period as "non resident for tax purposes", you get no tax free threshold, but for the period you were "resident for tax purposes" you get the $6,000 tax free threshold.

Temporary residents can apply for a departing Australia superannuation payment to access their superannuation when they leave Australia.
