More detailed info at: http://s6.invisionfree.com/BrisbaneB...?showtopic=125
and

You need to look at the area first before settling, but many people who do look in this area end up settling somewhere local in the Redlands.
Your main points were:
"Is it as quiet as it looks?schools for kids?Movies ,shopping, beach?"
I think its quiet, but it does depend on what you compare it to. I think its very family orientated.
Schools: Quite a bit of choice, and good private schools not too expensive in the whole Redlands area. Plenty of Sports options in the local area too.
Movies: Not yet built in Victoria Point, but in the plans. Closest is at Capalaba a 15 minute drive.
Shopping: 4 Supermarkets and loads of smaller specialist shops should be enough for most people.
Beach: Sand and water for the kiddies at Thompsons beach, but no surf. Thats either on Stradbroke Island, or the Gold Coast about 1 hr south.
Transport: No train line. That starts at Cleveland, about 10-15mins drive away.
No night life in the immediate area, other than night fishing on the bay if you like that type of thing

If you're looking at Victoria point, also consider Cleveland, Ormiston & Wellington Point. All have rail links into the city. Cleveland certainly is livlier of an evening with quite a good selection of bars, pubs & restaurants.
Major shopping centres at Capalaba, Viccy point is slightly smaller. Large shopping centres also based at Carindale and Garden City at Mount Gravett are all within 40 minutes drive.
Redland bay on the south side of Victoria point, i think that can be considered even quieter. Victoria Point is certainly cheaper than some other suburbs on the bayside water, but you're gonna have to be quick if you do decide to live there. Its classed as 'up and coming' and prices are rising still. I have many friends based in Victoria point and also play football (proper football) there.
check out the Redlands council website. They have a great online map which gives a good view of the area.

As ABCD has pointed out though, we have small beaches suitable for small children at various places in Bayside, but if you're after surf, you're gonna have to go Gold coast or Stradbroke island (which itself is about an hour on the ferry).
Any questions, ask.
