Can anyone recommend Hotels on the Gold Coast/Sanctuary Cove
Hi going up to the Brisbane boat show at Sanctuary Cove next month, been told not to stay around Sanctuary cove as theres not much happening there? I've no idea as we've never been there or to the gold coast, can anyone recommend a good hotel thats pretty central to bars and restaurants

If you can afford to buy a boat then stay at the Palazzo Versace at Southport Marina,

we've no intention of buying a boat, the company my partner works for has a boat in the show and hes going up with it, saw it as an opportunity for a weekend away. but thanks for the sarcastic response anyway

Assume you mean the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show (Brissie one is later in the year in Brissie). Anyway, coaches run to and from the Marina from the Parklands show ground which is just behind Southport, a couple of Ks from Surfers so if you search on wotif for accommodation either in Surfers (if you want to experience it ) or better still Broadbeach, it's a short hop by cab or bus to the showground. When we went a couple of years ago unless you were special and had a fancy pass, it was the only way to get there, don't think its changed. The bus fare is all part of the entrance ticket for the boat show.
Certainly no point in staying in or around SC - sod all to do there imo but then I don't like the area because to us it looks like an upmarket prison camp from the outside. Plenty of others love the area so what do I know Marina is nice though

OK so I gather Broadbeach is quieter than Surfers, I did look on Wotif but there are so many areas in the drop down list I just didnt know how far away stuff was etc a friend suggested Burleigh Heads? must admit I fancy seeing what Surfers is all about though be a bit of a shock from Tas
actually I was looking on qantas and they have a deal where you get a 1000 points staying at the Conrad Jupiters? then I always think why are they offering that, is it because its crap
