Looking for a good financial planner that can give us Financial Advice on moving from the UK to Oz and what to do with ISA's, Savings, Premium Bonds, Pensions etc etc

Also like to hear of any to steer well clear of to!!!

Sorry mate cant help you at the moment. I am a 'good' FA both established over 10 years with licences in the UK & Eire but not (yet) in OZ.

I have a friend who works in the Sydney area in a reputable practice if thats any help, though you may be looking elsewhere.

You must of ALLLL taken advice from people surely??? Need Help as cant seem to find anyone that does UK & Oz!!

I used Prism Expats, haven't got their number to hand, but you should find it on google. They cost just over £500 and that is for a meeting to tell them what you have, in my case it was three different pensions and then they go away and look at it. They advised me to keep the company pension I had in the UK as it would work out better for me in the long run, but advised that I move the other two, but they do charge 5% of the value of the pensions! I still haven't decided whether to move them or not because if you leave them in the UK, you pay tax on the yearly increase from the time you arrive in Oz, but if we took them to Oz and didn't stay there forever, the pensions are not allowed back out of Oz and then getting the money sent over to the UK when you retire could be a nightmare if the exchange rate is bad because you could lose a lot that way and there is the tax to consider, so it does take some thinking about.

Good luck, it's just another thing to get your head spinning, can't wait for mine to stop, but no doubt it will take a few months yet!

Try contacting [email protected], they are based in London and set up a meeting to go over your finances and options, cost me just over £100.

My main concern is the Stocks and Shares ISAs I have as once I go to OZ they will have to show as income even though the funds don't pay dividends but reinvest.

Still got to decide wether to cash them in and buy Aussie funds as I believe they have some tax breaks.
