Default Can anyone help??

Hello all

We have only got 7 weeks left and we are desperately trying to find temporary accomodation. Myself and my husband and my 12 year old son will be arriving in Perth on 24th Nov on a 457 visa and i will be working as a midwife and my husband is a qualified welder. We are looking for temporary/holiday accomodation for the time being and then look for permanent accomodation when we have settled there. The recruitment consultant who has sorted out my move has sent me various links to apartments but everywhere is booked up due to it being the holiday season.

I am finding it difficult at the moment to find any accomdation for the dates we arrive.

Has anyone got any idea who i can contact?? I have tried realestate and reiwa estate agents but they only provide long term rentals.

All help would be gratefully recieved

Hi we supply a furnished rental service for new arrivals but cover se qld there are some links on our web site for different areas www.jimboombarelocations.com or try next step australia dont have web address to hand, if you go into whsmiths get oz/nz mag. Have you tried classifieds on this site think rentals are under commercail section. I noticed you are a nurse dont you get a relocation package that includes accommodation that seems the norm in qld gary

Hi Gary

Thanks very much for you advice, i am very grateful for that!

No i don't get a relocation package, well not that i know of anyway!

My recruitment consultant who has sorted everything out for us to move is supposed to be sorting it all out for us, but for some unknown reason she is not responding to the emails very quick and time is pressing on, so decided to take it into my own hands and find some where ourselves.

I will try all those links you sent and thanks again

This might be hard ball tactics but why not challenge your agent to find you somewhere to stay.
If you have your registration in the bag:- WA health will bite your hand off to help you!
I am a nurse too and have settled on the job offer NOT the relocation package...as I have had better relocation package offered than from other employers.
You really are in a strong position...of course you might be tied to this 'agent' but if he aint finding you a place to stay it is pretty poor.

There is also http://www.wotif.com/ where you may be able to get a good rate on a serviced apartment for a week or so until you can get something more permanent. They only have vacancies up to the early middle of November-ish but their rates are great.

Hi,

We had the same problem !

We've been here since January and stayed in a holiday rental as we couldn't get a long-term rental. We got one ( well, three actually ) with Elite Villa Holidays who are based here in Perth. They were very friendly and helpful ( ex-pats themselves ! ) and the houses were great. Can recommend them. Linen and towels were provided, as was a food welcome pack. All very hassle-free. Haven't got their number to hand but look on the web. Send them an email and ask what they've got. (If you can't find them on the web, PM me and I'll get their details )

Good Luck.
