Default Campervans/Car Hire in NZ

Hi Everyone
I have some friends travelling to Aus and NZ end of this year and for 3 months next year. they have asked me to enquire whether anyone knows of any campervan/car hire companies in nz that are prepared to hire for 3/4 days in south and then again in north island?

If not any companies that can be recommended?
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Irene

We hired from Auckland to Rotarua and left car at airport flew to Christchurch and picked up another car there. So yes you can do a car hire from north and south Islands.
It was a few years ago now so I've forgotten which company we used, if hubby can remember it I'll get back to you

We used "Thrify" to get us from Auckland to Rotorua when we arrived a year ago. Competitive price wise and the estate car we hired had only a couple of hundred km's on the clock. Parked it up at Rotorua airport when we were finished with it.

Hi
Thanks for the replies, were they happy for you to hire just for a couple of days at a time, as I think they intend to also do a couple of train journeys.

Hello,

We used these guys in Queensland a few weeks ago, they operate in New Zealand too. http://www.backpackercampervans.com/...px?page_id=395
They're owned by Britz and were really good value, it's possible to hire for any amount of time. The best packages are the all inclusive ones, which inlcude $0 excess and all the bits and pieces inside, chairs, bedding etc.
