LOL ....sorry to disappoint you Dorothy haven't been to the butchers yet - will be asking for the "pickled pork" though when I do visit. Don't worry will let you know if I am successful.

Pickled pork is fabulous. Best choice out here.

Really do fancy some thick gammon steaks topped with a soft egg - the ones on sale seem to be that compressed stuff though

Maybe will just have to have thick slices of pickled pork with my egg - after we have got through the two hams (smoked - or pseudo smoked ) we won in raffles at the local club!!

Now trying to think of all the recipes under the sun for using excess ham

Try pea & ham soup, doesn't matter if you burn it 'cos it tastes burned anyway

Risotto, chunky pasta, "quiche", spanish omelette, fritters....

Have done quiche, fried rice, ham and cheese pasta, spag carbonara, cold meat salad, sandwiches galore! Might try the fritters........

Just ask any local butcher for it Bob, they all do pickled pork or would know another who did
