Default Buying ex display from a shop (freedom)

Today I bought a bed and mattress from freedom it was display and was at a substantial discount
after the sale we were told that as it was discounted we have no warrantry not even 1 week
we dont have an issue with the bed it seems fine

the wife seems to think this is illegal
anyone know the facts?

Sounds odd to me. If you buy something in a sale, you still get the basic manufacturers warranty for the product just normally unable to take back if you change your mind. I'm sure you'd have the same sort of protection with a display item.

thats what I thought, but with freedom being the manufacture as well as the retail outlet they seem to holding all the cards
the sales girl compared it to buying it 2nd hand with made us look at each other in disbelief
still bought it though it was a very good deal

She's full of it. Even if it is display stock, it is still covered by warranty. Contact Fair Trading and complain.

I have found a lot of stores don't know that you have legal rights outside of the shops terms and conditions. Have argued many a case !!
