For those that like to mix up reward flights with paid segments, I have notices some quite cheap biz fares on the VIE-BKK route on Austrian (you can also add another European flight to VIE that should not cause the price to spike). When I checked last week it was just below 2k EUR return/pax, which for a biz fair is remarkable value.

I have just purchased some life miles on a 2x1 +10% bonus the offer came on at Lunchtime today here in Australia, we purchased miles online booked all flights online.
I never picked a phone up the whole process took about 45 minutes from start to finish, this was great after taking 14 hours on the phone last time

So what route did you book? The LM website is very limited in what it shows these days. When l logged on I actually saw 2x1 + 20% I think...A few people have said the same.

WE got 2x1 + 10% Flying Thai Business from Brisbane $1221 usd +$130usd Tax and had tickets sent through in 1 hour most impressed

So Brisbane to Bangkok only then? It's when connections come into play that the website is now very shy!

Looks like it's available on the 18th and the 21st. You could check this on united.com too for a simple point to point itin like this.

Buyer beware with TG, SYD and F...I'm sure it could be withdrawn at any time!

Hi, haven't been on here for a while, we may be heading to UK (from Brisbane) in late December, no first class this time but whats the best way and rough cost for business class?
Not bothered about stop overs as only away for a couple of weeks

Kevin i joined lifemiles, waited for deal to come on and purchased online, for the UK last Christmas.
We went Sydney, Beijing,Heathrow and Return Business, as no first class available

I joined Life Miles a long time ago but have never received any offers, do they come via email?
I looked for flights yesterday (via normal search method) and we are looking at around $4700 for both of us, is going through Life Miles going to be any cheaper or possible get business class for not much more?

Been a good while since I've been here, but I'm looking for Biz class seats back to Blighty next year for a wedding.
The American miles seems to have gone tits up, so following on from James' lead, I've joined Life miles.
However, I'm really interested in how Kevin found two business class tickets at $4700 for 2 people as I've the cheapest I can find is that each!!

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

UK is harder to find due to website bugs but the following is the price for Melbourne-Copenhagen-Melbourne which is always easy to find online:

Part Cash Part Miles redemption:

Miles 71,000 (Costs 1089USD in the current promo)
Cash 1611USD

So the total for that is 2700USD = 3400AUD (at US0.80)

So yes, there is no way you are going to be getting business for anywhere close to 2500AUD per seat...UK taxes would add at least an extra 250AUD on top of the itin above for CPH.

I'm having trouble finding any flights that are available at all.... to anywhere!
I've been having a read around the programme and from what I've read, if you have to telephone it's HORRIBLE....
To the point that writers have recommended finding availability before buying miles!!

Am I right in assuming that you can only book 345 days in advance of your journey?
Does that mean that you should book your outbound and inbound journeys separately in order to get the offers you want.

Sorry for all the questions, I'm very grateful for all the advice. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to do this.

Im actually considering booking Malaysian and then putting in a bid for upgrade, if I can figure out what level I should bid at!!
