Bunnings
Well it has started already, B&Q used to be part of our weekly shopping trip in the UK now it has become Bunnings, even the kids ask at the weekends are we going to Bunnings. Why is it that we always come out of there with a lot more than we went in for.

Re: Bunnings
When our daughter was young she kept talking about going to Bunnings and kept asking when we would be going next. Although we went occasionally we couldn't understand the obsession until we worked out that she was actually trying to say Bernice.

I go just as an excuse for the sausage sizzle

Re: Bunnings
I think a lot of people end up there as its the only damn place open on sundays, especially in perth.
But even though a lot of people on the forums go there, if you suggest sunday trading on these forums people tend to go a bit crazy against it, with some missed placed idea that it will spoil the world or something if more shops were to open on sundays |

Re: Bunnings
Some guys I used to work with called Bunnings, 'the church.' Conversations on a Monday morning went something like:
"Did you go to church on Sunday?" "Yeah, got myself some good timber for the new fence and a nail-gun; it's awesome! How about you?" "Sure, I didn't need anything really but came away with beaut gas barbie for the summer. Our old one had nearly had it, anyway. Tried the new one out when I got home and cooked up a storm!" |

Re: Bunnings
A side issue: The performance of places like Bunnings, B&Q, Homebase etc serves as a good indicator of how well a country is performing economy wise.
