Default Buildings Insurance for empty UK property

Hi,

We're flying to Perth on 7th Jan 07. Our house is still not sold, so it will be staying on the market but will be unfurnished and unoccupied.

We obviously need insurance, but not many companies seem to do buildings only insurance or charge the earth to provide it! For example, 1 quote was £500 for 6 months!!!!

Has anyone else done this and found a better deal for this insurance?

Cheers,

Jane x

Recently we had the same problem (husband inherited mums home - standing empty) Lots of companies turned me down for insurance - finally got esure to insure it. They said they would insure it for buildings and contents, but we opted for buildings only.£100 for a years insurance for 100,000 worth of cover.
