Default Building trade in Perth

How easy is it to get work in Perth! Im a plasterer /renderer and can do most jobs associated with plasterering?
Do you work on a self employed basis or employed (paye)?

Any advice appreciated
Cheers

Plenty of work around. Self employed or with a building company

hi , just be careful, don't know how it applies to plasterers, but in the electrical industry, you have to sit a licence that takes about 2 weeks, then you have to Wait for the TRA to send you your certificate, that takes about 3-4 months, in which if a company employers you with out your certificates they get fined, so most wont. as for subcontracting or self employment, you have to sit other licences , and courses before they will allow you to do it , this could take along time, this is all relevant to south Australia , so i do not know if it applies to Perth, we have found this out first hand by going in to a department of TRA in Melbourne last week. ( but then again we know electricians that have been taken on with out the certificates , but then they are on lower rate of pay
