Building Costs?
Can anyone point me in the direction of any websites offering advice on budget costs for building (basic @ per m sq).
I have scoured the internet but cannot find any.
Any self-builders out there that can help?

that might give u a rough idea....it all depends where u r building tho.
we r building a 4 bed Hotondo lowset and its costing just under the $200k thats with a GOOD builder and hes defo not the cheapest

$1500 - $2000 per sq/m seems to be the range- but it's a lowlongsapieceofstring answer really! Oz building standards are, shall we say - different. Even very expensive houses often have very poor finishes so treat any quotes with a degree of scepticism.
The makeloadsamoneybyrenovatingandmovingon brigade are still around, although as some of them get stung there are fewer of them than a year ago. It's illuminating seeing what standards many have worked to in their "renovations" - just got back from looking over several of these which varied from pull-downs to dropathunderfalshinatinofdulux decorating!
