Default Builders in Perth

We're planning on moving to Perth and my husband is a bricklayer. Does anyone know how easy it is for a bricklayer to get work in Perth and, approx, how much they earn ?
Here in the UK, my husband is self employed and works 12 hours a day 7 days a week so he's up for some hard graft.

Also, we'll be visiting Perth in August - does anyone know of any builders he could meet up with to chat to about the work situation ?

Perth is having such a big building boom that he won't have a problem getting a job. They do work 7 days though some of them. Have a look at www.thewest.com.au - the west newspaper online on a Saturday, there is always tons of bricklayer ads in there. Last year they were short of bricks then they were short of brick layers, we're building next month and I hope they're short of nowt!

You'll be fine...........Jane.

Hi,
I've seen brickies here earn up to $240 per day on day rate but $210 to $230 would be average,
Met a bricky from oldham who charges $35.00 per hour sub contracting.
Always lots of ads for brickies in the papers.
