Default Brittania Movers??????

Had Brittania out this week, so far the best in amount £3,950. Thinking of using them now. (Leicestershire to Sydney)
Has anyone used them or got some useful info on them??

Here's some info that might be useful to others:

Also had Excess International - said we'd need 20ft container plus 1/3 sharing, total cost of £5,000 (far too expensive)
Anglo Pacific - keeping well clear of them now, looking at other threads on here. :scared:
Crown Removals come to £4,500.
Awaiting quote from PSS - they have a good reputation from what i can make out.
All the above are for 20ft container alone except Excess International.

we used Brittania,Bournemouth to Melb, last year in a 20'container. we were very pleased with them, best price, pleasant & efficient. They used a local agent in Melb, Trans International & they too were efficient to deal with. It turned up on time, nothing damaged.
The only query my OH had was that his drop down saw was never delivered, he believes it was stolen by customs. I think it was left behind

How close to filling the 20ft container are you - if excess reckon you need more space?

You may need to ask about potential extra cost if the estimator has got their figures wrong, and they need to up the costs when they fill up the container and find a few items left over!

Hi Paula,

We went with Brittania from Manchester to Sydney.
Found them great.
All stuff arrived safely - just a minor breakage that was delicate anyway and has been glued back on!
After they delivered - they said "give us a ring when you've unpacked - and we'll return and dispose of all the packaging".
Please remember that you often do have to pay at the Oz end for customs clearance and we also had to pay more because we were in a first floor unit and they would have to walk up 25 steps! :scared:

3 Bedroom house, 2 adults 2 children. Lots of toys going with us and most of the furniture (including a large dining room table and 6 chairs). The only thing we're not taking which is bulky is our bedroom furniture and only taking 1 of the kids wardrobes as most houses out there have built-ins.

Can see where you're coming from, but 4 other companies have all said that everything will fit in the 20ft container.
However what we intend on doing is leaving a few bulkier items till last which we are prepared to leave behind and if they all fit in great, if not will leave them behind. I'm sure we can find some friend or other that will appreciate a large dining room table.
Hopefully it will fit.
Thanks for the advise.

cheers.
We'll be looking at moving a two-bed flat. Three small-medium sized rooms in total, so probably less than half what you have. Do they do half-containers ?

We are moving most of the contents of a 4 bed house. Had 4 quotes so far for a 20 foot sole use container. They have all come in at around the 3.700 mark. Its close but they all reckon it will all go in a 20foot......just......we too have a few things that if they won't fit will leave behind.

Quotes from.....PSS, Masons, Overs and a local company(much higher as they use Masons)

Yes, you basically share a container. You can have what evers needed at the end of the day. Just do as I have, get plenty of quotes so then you can make a pretty well informed decision as who to use. Then when you've decided do as I have and put a thread on here to get other peoples views. It certainly helps you to make your final decision.
Mind you sayin that, had quote back from PSS come to £3,730, but sister used them and she wasn't that impressed by the packaging materials. Most of the glass in the pictures frames got broke. But then again any one can have a bad experience with who ever you use.

You think things get easier after getting visa's but more important decisions have to be made from there.

All the best
Paula
