Brits rule! :D Rob However, I was wondering why this has been posted on the Australia forum? Shouldn't this be in the Lounge for all expats to enjoy? (Also, I can't see the connection with Oz, apart from the boat builders.) Regards Alistair |

Can't find much news about this on Aussie news websites. There is an item on www.news.com.au & it does not mention the Aussie built boat.

Have'nt hundreds of people already sailed around the world. l guess with a lack of international sporting victories you need something, even a woman sailing around the world in a little tub to maintain national pride. :D |

Well said! We love Ellen- what a woman. We should be able to celebrate her achievement without someone belittling it. People may have sailed around the world before but no woman has done it faster. :) |

"MacArthur was virtually unknown in Britain but a household name in France, where great sailors are venerated, when she set off 71 days ago." |
