shame you didn't post this a few weeks ago, we've just moved from Filton to Reading and the house sale finalised last friday.

Oh well, see you all on the other side!

Thanks to everyone who has responded - interesting to see where we all are! As a relative newcomer to this Forum, what's the best way of arranging this? Should those interested send me a private message with their email addresses so we can liaise directly?
Sundays were mentioned - how about 3rd or 10th July - somewhere child-friendly, reasonably central to Bristol (to cater for all). Otherwise, I don't work on Wednesdays - so could meet up with others with small kids..
Cheers

Hiya Mrs Crow!

You don't work Wednesdays but guess what - Wednesday is the only day that I do! Well I call it a day even though it's only a half day! And as I explained, we are hectic until we move out on 1st August so looks like I won't be around for a meet after all!

The best way to organise your meet would be to select a day and time and proposed venue, and post it and see who is available. Once you have firm plans you can then post it on the "Meet Ups" section - see top of screen. Bump it to the top for a couple of days to give any interested parties a chance to look. . . . .

Hope this helps.

Hi all

How about Sunday 3 July - 12:30pm at the Harvester, Snuff Mills, Frenchay. Seems quite central to all and is supposed to be child-friendly! However, please make other suggestions if you think not suitable. I presume they have a garden??

Cheers

Date and time fine for me and my brood. Would we need to book tho for a Sunday lunchtime ? Never been to the Harvester but have heard good reports about it. I don't think they have a garden tho - didn't see one last time we tried to get in there (tried to go a few times but always full)

No garden (v limited seating outside at front) and they won't accept bookings at Snuff Mill for groups (we tried for our antenatal group for a lunch.)

Could try to give it a go but doubt you'd be able to all sit unless they were having a quiet day.

OK - can anyone suggest another venue?? We're flexible - at least if we have an agreed date, I'm sure we can find somewhere - of course if we could rely on the weather, we could meet in a park or the Downs for a picnic!!

How about Emersons Green Beefeater.

Located on the A4174 ring road so easy access for most.

Large Restaurant & pub food served in the bar.
Garden with ample outside seating.

I have a few contacts here so may be able to sort out a reserved area etc.

Just a thought !

Alternatively if not everyone wanted to eat - there's the 'Golden Hart' (think that's what it's called) at Winterbourne Down. It's more off a pub but does lovely food and there is a great garden for the kids. Might be a bit out of the way for some tho

Either good for us. Haven't been to the Beefeater, but know the Golden Hart. Anyone any good at making a decision

How about the Golden Hart at Winterbourne Down? It could be a relaxed meet up - drink or food... Could meet up between 12:30 - to whenever. How would we recognise each other do you think us wannabe expats have a certain aura
